On the 79th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising – August 1, 2023, following the example of the previous years, a solemn celebration of the memory of the heroes of the uprising, victims of the civilian population and insurgents who survived the hecatomb took place.

In Warsaw, a march of remembrance took place, a concert of the “(not) forbidden” uprising songs, and candles were lit in every place commemorated with fight, and tragic, heroic death on the barricades, streets and squares of the Capital.
Since August 2, 2019, when the ceremonial unveiling of the pedestal in honor of the insurgent Agust Agboola Browne, originally from Nigeria, took place in the Pasaż Wiecha in Warsaw, the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization Poland, in cooperation with the Nigerian Embassy in Poland, Foundation for Freedom and Peace, organize ceremonial meetings. This year – 2023 – many distinguished personalities took part in the event:
Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Poland H.E. Christian Ugwu, representatives of diplomatic missions of African countries in Poland, Patience Okiyi-Head of Chancery of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Poland, representatives of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, representative of the Chancellery of the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw, representative of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, delegation – Alumni Comprehensive High School, Aiyetoro from England and Ireland, representative of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Medical Chamber in Toruń and guests from Poland.
